Jean is a hard working single mother who completed her studies in Business Administration, Major in Management. Jean has worked for several US companies in the past 15 years. During her free time, she likes to take long rests during the weekends, watch movies at home, sleep all day and bond with her kid and 2 cats and dogs.
Last August 13, we facilitated an interview with Jean to hear about her personal life, previous work experiences and how all these led to her success as an LTL Supervisor at PrimeTime. Read on to learn more about her story!
UNWAVERING DEDICATION
In my first 7 years of work, I specialized in telecommunications until I started doing some back office jobs in 2010. Some time after that, I became a Purchasing Officer for a worldwide merchandising company, then I landed a job as a Production Associate where I managed massive clients in the entertainment industry such as Disney and DreamWorks. One of my largest projects as a Production Associate was distributing promotional materials and advertising Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame.
When I discovered PrimeTime, it all started with a staffing agency assigning me to Robert. Some drama happened and because of that, Rob decided to absorb me. I was designated for LTL but because I work alongside Rob and Chris, I began to diversify my field as I learned about volume LTL, partial and full truckload. I consider all these as my logistics foundation.
My way of giving back, on the other hand, is to share what I have learned with new hires and to continue being loyal to the company I work for. I felt that PrimeTime reciprocated this loyalty. They’re (Rob, Chris and Jon) not like any other bosses. They take their share of the legwork rather than just sit down and wait for profit. With all these, I saw myself working in PrimeTime for a long time.
ROLE INSIGHTS:
LTL SUPERVISOR
For tracking, it is very important to be organized all the time. You don’t just check the system and that’s it. During the day, I sort out my loads, communicate with customers and take down notes. I keep track of items that need to be rescheduled, picked up and delivered. I am aware of which packages are already in transit and I email, text or call truck drivers to get real-time status updates. Essentially, the goal of tracking is to get the latest information and disseminate it as soon as possible.
HIGHLY INVOLVED LEADERS
Working at PrimeTime is very different. Let’s take companies in the BPO industry for example. You never talk to your bosses directly especially if they’re foreign. At PrimeTime, the bosses are highly involved so they will assist you on any kind of issue you may have, right away.
THE IMPORTANT QUESTION: HAS WORKING FOR PRIMETIME CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
Yes, they gave me the comfort of working at home. This is my first remote job. Aside from that, Robert, Chris and Jon are very understanding bosses. If something happens, we can ask for help. From what I recall, in a recent typhoon, 3 employees based in Cebu were affected – they (Robert, Chris and Jon) immediately sent help. There is also this 1 team member who got married and they gifted that employee as a way to celebrate the wedding. With this, I could see that the bosses provide as much support as they could even without you asking for it. Finally, compensation-wise, I find it charming. I could really say that working at PrimeTime is not just about work. Here, we help each other out.
PRIMETIME GRATITUDE CORNER
I think everyone deserves an acknowledgment. I might not work directly with this person, but I know for a fact that Liza is doing a tremendous job. I see her hard work and efforts like logging in early, being the last person logging out and I see her commitment when it comes to her loads. Liza was my friend before Primetime, I was the one who referred her to PTGL and I know her history of work–and it is not within logistics. I’ve seen her huge improvement from day 1 up until now. She was able to build her thought process and exceptionally manage her clients. If this is a music award, Liza is our breakthrough artist. I’m just proud to refer the right person who’s more than qualified for the job even if she started out seemingly as an unfit one.
